Few sponsorships in football history have become as iconic as Pirelli’s partnership with Inter Milan. THE STORY

From 1995 to 2021, Pirelli was the name across the chest of Inter Milan, creating one of the most enduring partnerships in football. The Italian tyre manufacturer and the Milanese club shared 26 years of history, spanning Ronaldo’s arrival, the 1998 UEFA Cup triumph and José Mourinho’s historic 2010 Treble. Through changing generations, shirt designs and club ownership, the Pirelli logo remained a constant - its distinctive lettering becoming inseparable from Inter’s identity. When the partnership ended as a shirt sponsorship in 2021, it marked the close of an era, although Pirelli remained connected to the club as its Global Tyre Partner.

Fan fact: On 27 August 1995, Inter and Pirelli took the field together for the first time. Three years later, Ronaldo and his teammates lifted the UEFA Cup wearing the same sponsor across their shirts. The partnership went on to accompany Inter through its historic 2010 Treble, making Pirelli much more than a corporate logo: it became part of the visual memory of an entire generation of football fans.
