St. Pauli Crests

From early crests featuring the club’s name and Hamburg’s heraldic imagery to the cleaner circular designs used today, the badge has continually evolved while retaining a strong connection to St. Pauli’s roots.

THE STORY

Across its history, FC St. Pauli has gone through several distinct badge designs, reflecting different eras of the club and its visual identity. From early crests featuring the club’s name and Hamburg’s heraldic imagery to the cleaner circular designs used today, the badge has continually evolved while retaining a strong connection to St. Pauli’s roots.

Yet none of these official crests is as closely associated with the club as the Jolly Roger - the skull-and-crossbones flag that became an unofficial symbol of St. Pauli and its supporters. More than a graphic, it represents the club’s rebellious identity, outsider culture and refusal to conform.
