Palermo
Le Aquile
The club kept changing shape. But it always returned in pink and black and an eagle. And it always found a way to fly again. Eagle. And the club.
THE STORY
In 1920 The first official crest: a blue-and-white shield with a diagonal stripe and the words Palermo FBC. It still reflected the club's earlier roots and looked very different from the identity we know today. 1921 - The same basic shape adopted the rosanero colours. The visual identity now closely associated with Palermo began to take shape.
1929 - A radical departure. Artist Pippo Rizzo designed a pink-and-black diamond in a Futurist style, perhaps the most avant-garde crest in Palermo's history. 1932 - The golden eagle, a symbol strongly associated with the city of Palermo, appeared following the club's historic promotion to Serie A. The eagle would become one of the most enduring elements of the club's identity.
1947 - After the war, the rosanero identity returned, with the eagle once again playing a central role. 1991–2000 - The crest gradually evolved into a form familiar to modern supporters: an eagle in flight inside a shield, combining the rosanero colours with an increasingly prominent reference to Palermo. 2019 - Following the club's latest collapse and rebirth, Palermo introduced a radically simplified symbol: a white eagle's head and three rosanero feathers contained within a stylised letter P. A new crest for a new beginning.
